Making the perfect mokka stove top pot coffee
Try to use a darker roasted coffee for the best results – an espresso coffee blend works just fine. Please also follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Step 1
Either use Grumpy Mule ground coffee (omni-grind) or if grinding your own beans, adjust the grinder to a fairly fine, but not espresso, setting.
Step 2
Unscrew the base of the pot and fill as appropriate with freshly drawn, cold water.
Step 3
Evenly fill the filter basket with ground coffee – there is no need to compact it. Place the filled basket into the water filled base.
Step 4
Heat the base of the pot over a deflected gas flame, or similar appliance (taking care at this stage and not leaving unattended!)
Step 5
After a few minutes and once the water has heated and begun to boil, the coffee will begin to percolate into the upper chamber.
Step 6
Do not allow the coffee to boil once brewed into the chamber. Once complete, remove the pot from the heat.
Step 7
Pour carefully into espresso, or small, cups and enjoy!
