Coffee at home – real coffee that is. In a way it’s
a very simple concept, and yet there can be so much complexity
and confusion at the same time. Maybe this is the reason why
instant coffee is king in the kitchen, and fresh coffee a
mere usurper.
It could be argued that the complications scare people away
from regularly drinking real coffee, and instead they save
a battered old packet of ground, in the back of the cupboard,
for a special occasion. But drinking great coffee is a special
occasion in itself, and the whole idea of Grumpy Mule is to
encourage people to enjoy the very best coffees, at home,
and to share the experience with friends and family.
It doesn’t have to involve expensive equipment –
a simple cafetière or paper cone filter is perfect
– but it requires just a touch more care and attention,
and your enthusiasm for the coffees. Drinking coffee alongside
foods or in partnership with other beverages can also enhance
the overall sensory experience, which is why we’ll occasionally
pop out from home in this section.
