of the website is all about the world of coffee, right from
its early mysterious, roots through to its position as one
of the most important global commodities. We want to place
coffee in its context – factual, historical and economical
– to understand why it has become such a vital part of
people’s lives, whether as a beverage or a means of generating
income.
However, more importantly that this, we want to take you on
the complete coffee journey. Where is coffee grown? Who is
responsible for its cultivation, harvesting and processing?
What are the factors that influence the final cup of coffee?
Why is certification becoming increasingly vital? And how
does this all relate to the environment in which it is grown,
the local communities and the situation of each origin country?

The story is as long and complicated as the journey each individual
batch of coffee takes from the tree to your cup. But like
all long journeys there is plenty of enlightenment along the
way, and hopefully we’ll be able to bring the story to
life and help you understand the dedication, care and commitment
that is behind coffee in its homelands.
