Grumpy Mule Coffees from Bolivia
With a forthcoming coffee feature on Bolivia in the Observer Food Monthly, it seems a good time to become re-aquainted with this origin and it's fine coffees. The Flor de Mayo Cup of Excellence coffee proved very popular a couple of years ago and we've been meaning to get our hands on another great Bolivian coffee ever since.

Damian has now visited Bolivia on 2 occasions, the first in 2008 for the Cup of Excellence competition and most recently in January in and around the key coffee town of Caranavi in the Yungas region. Although relatively small in terms of production and export volume, this origin is high in quality helped by the climate, altitudes that the coffee grows at and organic cultivation. The Cup of Excellence program is also very successful here and well supported by FECAFEB the primary coffee organisation.
So what coffees have we got lined up from Bolivia for 2010?
Bolivia Cafe Wara Wara III from the Bolivia Cup of Excellence available from 12th March in the Grumpy Mule shop (£7.95). Really great, award winning coffee
Organic Bolivia (Fairtrade certified) from Union ProAgro Cooperative, both a single lot of "Cafe Femenino" from women producers but also some additional Fairtrade Organic that may find its way into some of our Grumpy Mule espresso blends. This coffee will be available from April 2010
And we also hope to see Bolivia Irupana, a family grown coffee from the Caranavi area thanks to an excellent sample from Mercanta the Coffee Hunters.
