The general aim of the program is to create relationships between coffee farmers and roasters, and to promote some of the world’s best coffees to the consumer. The very first Cup of Excellence® competition was held in Brasil in 1999, and is currently held in 7 key coffee producing countries.

An international panel of coffee experts select the very best coffees from an individual origin country for a particular year which then receive the prestigious Cup of Excellence® award. The winning coffee lots are sold via an internet auction, generating much higher prices for the farmer than they would receive elsewhere. Generally speaking, this means that everyone benefits.

Damian has now been serving on Cup of Excellence® juries since 2004, and not only do we hope to continue supporting the program but also to offer you some of these award winning coffees.
