The coffee is processed using the unique “Pulped Natural” method whereby the coffee beans are sun-dried in their sticky, sugary mucilage lending the coffee extra sweetness and depth of flavour. It has a toasty, chocolatey aroma and flavour with a luscious, velvety body.

Our ground coffees are suitable for use in a wide range of coffee brewing equipment including filters, French press (cafetiere), percolators, AeroPress, Chemex and siphons.

For espresso machines, we recommend that you finely grind your choice of Grumpy Mule coffee beans for the best results. Alternatively, we can finely grind the beans to order for you – simply choose the espresso grind option.

With a cult following across the world, this celebrated family farm – founded in the fertile, rolling landscapes of Minas Gerais - is owned and managed by the agronomist Paulo Sérgio de Almeida. Specialising in impressive organic techniques, this acts to integrate the farm with the local environment and enhance the qualities of his fine coffee. Protection of the local water sources and the legal forest reserves - where there are many monkeys and a large variety of birds – are also key priorities and the farms 20 full time employees benefit from the provision of free housing complete with infrastructure, free electricity, milk and ground coffee.

The farm has enjoyed repeated success in the Brasil Cup of Excellence competitions and continues to one of our favourite Grumpy Mule coffees.
